BETSY HARPER, CEO & Managing Partner

Betsy has been in sales and marketing management for the past twenty years. She has been a National Sales Manager in the wholesale giftware industry helping grow a small company by 500% in four years by recruiting, hiring and managing manufacturers representative groups.

Subsequently, she was the Director of Membership Development for SBANE, The Smaller Business Association of New England, responsible for hiring, training and managing their inside and outside sales force.

In 1993 Betsy joined Sales and Marketing Search as a recruiter and focused her business on emerging technology companies. Since that time she has recruited sales and marketing candidates, at all levels, for companies ranging in size from start-up ventures with no existing sales to a $6 billion dollar international hardware and software systems integrator. In January 2000 Betsy became the CEO and Managing Partner of Sales and Marketing Search.

Betsy has served on a number of boards and advisory committees, both in business and local community service. She is currently on the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) Board of Directors, is an active member of the MIT Enterprise Forum, the North Shore Technology Council, the Massachusetts Association of Personnel Services and The Boston Club.

ANA GOMES, Senior Recruiter

Ana Gomes brings her vast expertise in human resources to Sales and Marketing Search after having started her career in the public sector. Ana started her career as a mental health counselor working with individuals with major mental illnesses. She oversaw two residential group homes in the Boston area where she recruited, staffed and managed counselors.

With a knack for and interest in working with people, transitioning her skills into sales and recruiting proved to be an easy task. Ana started her recruiting career as an in-house technical recruiter and internet researcher for companies such as IBM/Rational, Groove Networks, Cerylion and many others.

In 2003 Ana joined Sales and Marketing Search. Since then she has used her expertise in research and the Internet to identify and place entry-level to Director-level sales and marketing individuals. She works for an extensive number of software and technology companies located in the Boston area and nationwide.

When she's not recruiting, you can find Ana skiing and teaching skiing for the White Mountain Adaptive Snow Sports Program at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire. Or in the summer months, you'll find her out on Cape Cod Bay reeling in the stripers!
